How New Episodes Automatically Join the Pacing Schedule

For ongoing series — science shows, teacher-led courses, or serialized picture books — when the creator uploads new episodes, parents worry: "Will new episodes mess up my pacing? Will my child binge through them all at once?"

The pacing engine in "Anxin Learn" naturally supports incremental updates with full, automatic pacing inheritance.

[!TIP] 30-second follow-along quick-start

  • Sync in two steps: On the collection's detail page, tap [[Check for Updates]] and the app compares with the source and appends new episodes;
  • Pacing rules inherited automatically: New episodes arrive locked, queued at the end of the existing schedule;
  • History fully preserved: Completed and checked-in episodes stay 100% intact — no skipping or backtracking;
  • Smart finish estimate: The app recalculates the completion date using the new total episode count and daily release pace.

1. Check for Updates & Append

  1. Open Video Management: Go to [[Parent Center]] → tap [[Video Management]];
  2. Open the collection: Find the ongoing series and open its detail page;
  3. Tap Check for Updates: Tap [[Check for Updates]] at the bottom;
  4. Incremental append: The app compares with the source and adds only the new episodes (N+1, N+2, …) to the end of the library.

2. How New Episodes Join the Schedule

[!IMPORTANT] Pacing rules are 100% inherited

  • New episodes start locked: They are never exposed for binge-watching — they queue at the end of your existing pacing schedule, fully governed by your rules;
  • History untouched: Completed and checked-in episodes keep their green checkmarks; the episode currently in progress stays as-is;
  • Finish estimate adjusts: The pacing dashboard folds new episodes into the total and recalculates the expected last week.

3. FAQ & Troubleshooting

Q: Why does "Check for Updates" say "Already up to date"?

The creator may not have uploaded yet, or the new upload is an untranscoded trailer. Also, if the creator posted the new episodes in a brand-new playlist instead of the original collection, you'll need to import that new playlist in the app.

Q: The creator inserted a bonus lesson between existing episodes — will the order break?

The app matches by episode ID and title. If a creator inserts an episode in the middle, the new content is appended to the end automatically. You can always long-press and drag in the episode list to reorder.

Q: What if the creator deletes an episode at the source?

If a source episode is removed, the imported copy shows "expired" when played. Run [[Check Broken Videos]] in [[Parent Center]], remove the dead episode with one tap, and the remaining ones shift up — the pacing chain stays unbroken.
