Forgot Your Parental PIN?
To keep preschoolers from escaping clean mode or changing screen-time limits, "Anxin Learn" has a strict parent-verification mechanism.
Forgot your 4-digit PIN? No worries — there are two painless ways back in: the PIN hint and one-tap secure-email verification. No waiting, no email codes to fetch.
[!TIP] 30-second PIN recovery quick-start
- Check your hint first: your own hint is shown prominently above the input (e.g. "last two digits of our anniversary");
- Email instant verification: tap [[Forgot Password]], enter your bound security email, and it matches locally — you're in instantly;
- Core data 100% kept: resetting never clears your library, stars, or pacing records;
- Default character challenge: without a PIN set, uppercase Chinese characters appear (like "叁 陆 玖") — parents type the digits to pass.
1. Look at Your "PIN Hint" First
When setting a PIN, you can add a reminder (up to 30 characters):
- If you set one, it shows with a bright bulb icon above the input:
👉💡 PIN hint: [your hint](e.g. "old house door number", "last 4 of Mom's phone"); - In most cases, one look at your own hint is all it takes to recall the code.
2. Forgot It? Verify with Your Security Email in One Tap
Still can't recall it after several tries?
- Tap Forgot Password: in the PIN pop-up's bottom-right, tap [[Forgot Password?]];
- Switch to email verification;
- Enter the full email: type the complete email bound to your account (like
name@example.com); - Instant local check: tap confirm and the app matches locally:
- Success: the old forgotten PIN is cleared automatically, verified, and you're in!
- Zero waiting: no 6-digit email code needed, no digging through inboxes — secure and instant;
- Set a new PIN: back in [[Parent Center]], go to Security Settings, set a new 4-digit PIN — and add a memorable hint this time.
3. The Default Verification (If You Never Set a PIN)
New parents often wonder: "I never set a password — why does Parent Center ask me to verify?"
- The default uppercase-Chinese-character challenge: if you never set a 4-digit PIN, the app uses a Chinese uppercase-character challenge (like "陆 贰 捌");
- Why? Preschoolers (ages 3–6) usually recognize simple Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3) but rarely Chinese uppercase characters; parents glance at the characters and type the digits (
628) to pass in a second. It blocks stray kid taps without burdening parents with another password.
4. FAQ & Data Safety
Q: Will email verification erase my child’s stars and history?
Absolutely not! Resetting or clearing the PIN never touches viewing history, collections, pacing, or star badges — all core data stays 100% intact.
Q: Can I reset the PIN while offline?
Yes! Verification runs entirely on-device using local one-way hash matching — no network needed. Even on a plane, you're covered.
Q: My child can read the Chinese characters now — how do I make it unbreakable?
Go to [[Parent Center]] → [[Security Settings]] and enable "4-digit PIN protection", set your numeric code, and retire the character challenge for good.
